ABC Signs (American Sign Language): Children explore American Sign Language through fingerplays and rhymes as they work through the alphabet. Each session is led by a furry-handed puppet.

April Fool’s News is humorous adventure in critical viewing that incorporates filming, scripted acting, improv, and both constructing and deconstructing a news piece slotted to “air” on the first of April. Participants take on one or more roles while bringing one producer’s “great idea” to do something “funny to the news“ to fruition. This program uses flexible scripts and flexible roles to accommodate varying group sizes. contact us

SCIENCE
Chimpanzees: In this 90 minute course, students learn interesting facts about chimpanzees, their homes, and how they can help protect the environment. Participants make a cool chimp craft, and create their own chimp cupcake.
Grade 1-2, Grade 3-4, and Grade 5-6 sessions available.
Happy Scientists: You heard of Mad Scientists… Well, here come the Happy Scientists. This 90 minute course teaches children about Chemistry. They’ll explore molecular models, learn how to count like a Chemist, and find out about Fun Groups (functional groups) in a mystifying experiment.
Grades 5-6.
Healthy Hearts: This 90 minute course teaches children the anatomy of the heart, lets them explore their pulses under different conditions, and learn how to keep their hearts healthy. Craft included.
Grades 4-6.
The Earth’s Crust: This 90 minute course explores the layers of the Earth’s crust, volcanoes, geysers, earthquakes, Pangea, and tectonic plates. Craft included.
Grades 4-6.
Friction: This 90 minute course let’s children explore the force of friction through hands-on experiments.
Grades 4-6.
Germs and Antibodies: What exactly are germs? This 90 minute course teaches children about the types of germs around us and about our immune systems. Craft included.
Grades 4-6.
DRAMA & FILM
Drama Games: This 90 minute course teaches children fundamental acting concepts through interactive games.
Grades 4-7.
Mini-MTV: This 90 minute course teaches students about nonlinear video editing. Students star in their own music video. All participants receive a copy of the video on a CD-ROM (Mac or PC versions available). Note: Site should have Proxima (or similar Projector) available for instructor.
Grade 4-6, and Grade 5-8 sessions available.
MATH
Math Magic: This 90 minute course consists of a Math Magic component and a Math Creation component. Students learn neat Math Magic tricks and why they work. Then they get to create their own tiled project using tessellations.
Grades 4-6.
MUSIC & ART
Design Basics: First students learn about line, shape, color, movement, space, value, texture, and typography. Next they play a charades-type game involving sketching and sculpting with clay. 90 min.
Grade 4-5 and Grade 6-8 sessions available.
Electronic Music Factory: In this 90 minute course, students learn to combine their own voices and music loops into a musical masterpiece. Note: Site should have Proxima (or similar Projector) available for instructor.
Grade 1-3 and Grade 4-6 sessions available.
One, Two, Ah-La-Kazoo: In this 60/90 minute course, students learn about measures and beats. Each student receives a kazoo. The 90 minute session also includes creating a drum.
Grades K-1.
